Here are a few of the reasons we came up with the idea about decorative mailboxes

I was over at a friends house one day and arrived at just the same time his mail got there. I then noticed that he had a decorative mailbox and post set at the end of the driveway. I thought this was a pretty cool way to add a useful decoration to the front of the house. After I had talked to a few friends of mine about this idea and they thought it was pretty cool too. But the most interesting thing that I found was that none of them had thought of it before. Which surprised me because it was unique way to make your house stand out from all the others on your street.  After awhile my friend called me and said that other people on his street where starting to do the same thing which made his neighborhood look a lot better. And that is the main reason why this site is here. To help you come up with a new outdoor decorating idea that benefits all the people living around you.

In the adjoining subdivision the homes there didn't have curbside mail delivery so some people spruced up the front yard by adding decorative address plaques in the middle of small front yard garden and lighted house numbers by the front door.

I have to admit if you get enough of your neighbors doing this it can have a very striking effect.

I later talked to a real estate agent and they mentioned that if enough people did the same thing it would probably raise the value of all the properties and make homes much easier to sell. I would say that was a pretty good benefit to buying a decorative mailbox.

So in short I thought other people could benefit by using this idea for their own homes and start a new trend in your rural neighborhood. And that is one of the reasons why I built this site about decorative mailboxes and address plaques. Oh there are styles available for apartments and condo's.
